The second Monday of May.
Whatever the date of the second Monday of May might
fall, for every three years, the country will always exercise an election for
local and national elective position of the republic.
In electing national and local leaders, the reflection
is always mirroring the quality of the electorate. If a fool is elected, the electorate must be
composed of fools. If a thief is
elected, the electors must be composed of majority of thieves. If a killer is elected, majority of the
electors condones killing to get things done and to get things moving.
If a lightweight or a nobody is elected, what does that
tells you of the quality of electors or voters?
The scary part is that, once elected, the duration is
six years for the national office and three years for the local position. The perception whether such is a long time
for public service or a short one is dependent on the quality of service that
will be actually served by the elected candidate.
The choices are, a thief, a killer, a nobody, a somebody
and someone who is a cancer survivor (but a sitting senator).
I am simply afraid of the choices before me…
